CS Medical is proud to sponsor the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) public service campaign, International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW). Established in 1986, IIPW aims to shine a light on infection prevention and will take place October 15-21.
Infection Preventionists (IPs) play a crucial role in keeping the public safe and healthy. IPs are specially trained professionals from diverse backgrounds who make sure healthcare workers are doing all the things they should to prevent infections so that people do not get infections from the care they receive in a health facility. Infection prevention professionals are on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19 as well as healthcare-associated infections, measles outbreaks, and other infectious threats.
IIPW 2023’s theme is “Celebrating the Fundamentals of Infection Prevention” which highlights getting back to the basics of infection prevention for everyBODY. As part of this campaign, APIC has developed downloadable infographics, fact sheets, and social media materials to help educate all audiences on infection prevention and control and the role we all have in creating a safer world through the prevention of infection.
“We are excited to have CS Medical join our fight against the spread of infection during International Infection Prevention Week,” said APIC CEO, Devin Jopp, EdD.“Together, we can do more to share the importance of infection prevention to healthcare personnel and our greater communities.”
“CS Medical and our employees celebrate International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) with the thousands of IP professionals across the globe, as we collectively continue to work to reduce healthcare-associated infections through education, innovation and a tireless commitment to patient safety. Since inception, CS Medical has worked to help medical professionals to improve the care for patients through science-based solutions for the reprocessing of ultrasound probes. We will continue supporting all infection preventionists by designing and developing automated solutions that remove the risk of healthcare-associated infections related to the reprocessing of ultrasound probes,” said CS Medical President, Mark Leath. “Like Mr. Jopp stated, together we can do more to by sharing our collective knowledge on how to prevent infections and improve healthcare for all.”
