When the time comes for an audit of your facility—and the time will certainly come—are you prepared to provide records of every single cleaning and disinfection event for your TEE probes? If your facility is equipped with the TEEClean® Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector, then your answer will always be a resounding, “Yes!”
The TEEClean provides users with electronic records retention of each and every clean and disinfection cycle and records all device maintenance events. The TEEClean is actually able to record and maintain over 15,000 records in its vast internal system memory. These records will remain in the TEEClean’s memory permanently and are accessible at any time for download. This function makes audits a breeze as all records are easily accessible and always complete. These records can easily be selected by month and year or you can select all to download via USB.
The TEEClean also has automatic logging of events so you know your records are complete. Any time a user is added, a user is edited, a probe is added, a probe SN or description is edited, if the date or time is changed, a maintenance event occurs, the TEEClean is powered ON, a cleaning disinfection cycle is started, failed, passed, or user aborted a line is added to the log. These logs can be observed on screen or downloaded via USB. Absolutely no protected health information (PHI) is recorded in the TEEClean or could even be stored in the TEEClean, so there can be no HIPPA violations in downloading records or log files to a USB.
For those who are wary of keeping all their records in one place, the TEEClean also provides users with a printed verification report that outlines the successful cleaning and disinfection of the soiled TEE ultrasound probe. These printed reports provide a full statement including the technician’s name, the particular probe that was reprocessed, time, date, and the success or failure of the cleaning and disinfection cycles. The reports are printed by the TEEClean’s internal thermal printer, so you never have to worry about costly ink replacement.
TEEClean’s printed verification reports can be conveniently kept and organized in the TEEClean Log Book. The TEEClean Log Book then serves as a permanent, written record for each TEE probe that has been reprocessed in the TEEClean. Once the TEEClean prints the report, the reprocessing technician will simply attach it to the appropriate TEEClean Log Book page. Technicians won’t even have to fumble around for a stapler or tape as each of the TEEClean Log Book’s pages conveniently include an adhesive strip in the right spot. The technician will also have space in which to record additional details.
If your facility has implemented CS Medical’s newest innovation, the TEEClean Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector, then you can rest easy during your next audit, knowing that your TEE probe reprocessing records are always in order.
